Strategies to Fuel Your Determination!

Updated: May 24, 2021

Foster these three habits to increase your determination.

It's a common misconception that some people are just "determined" while others are not.

I’m stoked to be back on the road seven weeks after ankle surgery!

What has continued to pull me, as well as many others, through injuries, losses, fears, and flair-ups during the 30 years I’ve lived with Multiple Sclerosis is being more FIRED UP about the pursuit of my goals/intentions than I am about my concerns about the dangers I may encounter along the way. Don’t get me wrong! I’ve learned the importance of tending to my concerns while doing my best not to set up camp in them.

I'm inspired by what Winston Churchill said about success-

"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts."

Fuel Your Determination With These Three Practices

1. Think about, write down, and review often the PAYOFFS to the pursuit of your goals/intentions. Your payoffs, (including the feelings!) will ignite the passion to do the hard things to get you to where you want to be and how you want to experience life.

2. Get Curious! Ask yourself about all the good things that can happen. Foster a sense of awe with what you encounter and/or could encounter in your pursuit. With curiosity, your pursuit can become a fun adventure you continue to look forward to.

3. Find or create a tribe of people interested in what you're doing! A tribe of people pursuing similar goals offers support, understanding, inspiration, and accountability. A tribe can help sustain your determination during both good and challenging times!

I'd love to hear from you! How do you stay determined to remain on track with your goals/intentions?
